Chinese Herbal Medicine
A primary treatment modality within traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese herbal medicine offers regulatory and harmonizing influences through the use of specific formulas that have been used for thousands of years to bring relief and balance to patients suffering from pain or other uncomfortable symptoms.
Herbal formulas are based on an individual’s diagnosis. This means that each patient receives a customized prescription based on his/her disease, diagnosis, and underlying constitution. Herbs can be given in a variety of forms, taken both internally and externally, including decoctions of whole dried herbs, pills, tinctures, teas, granules, ointments, and poultices. They are generally used in tandem with acupuncture.
